Reading Humanities

Off to a great start in LLC Reading Humanities!!
Reading HumanitiesReading Humanities in the LLC is off to a great start! Our 8th grade class is examining the roots of our nation by learning about the various Native American tribes that lived within our country. Soon, we will being studying colonialism and will kick off our historical fiction unit by reading The Woods Runner. In 7th grade, we are honing our map skills by practicing latitude and longitude. This will get us ready to locate all sorts of places in the Eastern Hemisphere! Next, we’ll be diving into our Biographies unit in preparation for the Living Wax Museum. 6th graders have been tasked with making preparations for a zombie apocalypse. This is not covered in our emergency manual and it is essential we learn how to map an outbreak, determine how a zombie virus might spread, prepare a survival tactic, and potentially determine a good place for resettlement. 🧟‍♀️ Next, we’ll continue the survival theme by reading a few different novels: HatchetIsland of the Blue Dolphins, and The Call of the Wild
